Looking at Parking Increases at PNC Bank Arts Center

One thing we’ve always realized is that getting there is only contingent on you getting to us, and a critical piece to that puzzle is providing parking.  That’s why we are constantly striving to make improvements and added capacity in that area, especially at our busiest locations.  This comes as a result of a lot of hard work and coordination behind the scenes.

This is why we are so pleased to announce an agreement with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority to lease additional parking at the PNC Bank Arts Center for commuters.

“Over the past few years ridership has steadily increased at the PNC Bank Arts Center,” noted President Francis Tedesco.  “We are pleased to secure extra parking for our commuters at the park and ride.  Our agreement would not be possible without the efforts and collaboration of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. ”

The agreement is in response to a significant increase in ridership by commuters from the park and ride, especially following Super Storm Sandy.  By leasing lot #10 at the park and ride, ACADEMY has increased parking capacity by 283 spaces or about 30 percent overall.

Also, to accommodate commuters, buses will continue to load and unload at both lot locations.  In the morning, buses will only load at the “lower lot” until 7:50 AM and then switch to the “upper lot” for remaining departures.  In the evening, buses will stop and unload passengers at both lots.

Best of all, parking continues to be free at PNC Bank Arts Center with service available to both the Port Authority Bus Terminal and Wall Street area, making your commute to these areas easier and quicker than ever before!
